Throw away your glue...
out with the old... in with the new! Beeswax is the newest, most
exciting way to create collage works of art with amazing depth
and texture. Join Diane, altered book artist, for this stimulating
hands-on class, and create a pair of one-of-a-kind wax collages
to take home.
Students will start
by selecting collage papers for background, focal point and accent
while the pots of beeswax melt. Then, play around with composition
as you learn some basic design concepts. Now the real fun begins!
Each student will apply a thin layer of beeswax onto the surface
of their collages to adhere the carefully selected papers. You
will then add more layers and wax to create the exact collages
you desire. Students will have the option of adding dimensional letters for added depth. Other final
embellishments will be incorporated to give your pieces texture
and a finished look.
The materials fee covers
everything you need: two canvas boards, collage materials, ephemera,
beeswax, embellishments and more. You will create a pair of imaginative
beeswax art collages that you will be proud to display in
your home or give as a gift to *wow* your recipient.
