The Schedule of the full day is as follows (see directly below for the full class descriptions):
Morning: Melt & Pour Soap: Cute "Candy" Confections
Afternoon: Melt & Pour Soap: Electric "Pop" Colors

Other than the materials fee, listed above (which is due in cash at the first class), you don't need to bring anything with you. Students who come to the full weekend will get thorough handouts for both classes, tested recipes & instructions and 13 amazing bars of soap.


MORNING: March 3, 10am - 1:30pm
Melt & Pour Soap: Cute "Candy" Confections w/ Debbie Chialtas

Princess Soapy Pop Confetti Sprinkles Bar Soap Frozen Friends Soap 

Use fun & easy glycerin soap to create incredibly adorable soaps! We'll use a variety of molds, supplies, & techniques to achieve 3 distinctive looks. all inspired by our favorite food - sweets!

The projects to be covered are:

1) Princess Soapy Pop

Make a soap fit for the princess in your life! Scented like angel food cake & gleaming with pearly mica, it's also speckled with confetti colored jojoba beads. We'll learn about how to use mica & suspend exfoliants in this pretty project.

2) Confetti Sprinkles Bar Soap

Use a very unconventional tool to quickly pop out hundreds of these adorable sprinkles and embed them in the top of this cute soap. We'll cover using tray molds & cutters to make bars of any shape.

3) Frozen Friends Soaps

Have you ever used paper that dissolved in soap? It's so cool & fun! We'll make these happy little bars that feature this awesome and versatile materials, which lasts much longer than you might think!

Each student will take home detailed handouts explaining the techniques used in the class to make each product, 2 Princess Pops, 3 Confetti Sprinkles Bars, & 2 Frozen Friends Soaps. Note: Debbie uses cosmetic-grade, skin-safe Fragrance Oils in her classes.


AFTERNOON: March 3, 3 - 6:30pm
Melt & Pour Soap: Electric "Pop" Colors w/ Debbie Chialtas

Pop Star Soapy Pop I Heart Soap Retro Robot Soap 

Turn the volume way up for this totally awesome class! Glycerin soap is easy, fun, & a great medium to play with neon colors and super bright colors. We'll use a variety of molds, supplies, & techniques to create 3 rockin' designs!

The projects to be covered are:

1) Pop Star Soap

This soapy pop is truly fit for stardom. These pops feature bright, crystal clear colors and super sparkly stars. You'll love the "big reveal" when you unmold them!

2) I Heart Soap

Learn the intricacies of detailed molds with this fun project. You will be amazed by how perfect your soaps will be! Choose from several neon colors perfect for multi-colored designs.

3) Retro Robot Soap

This project not only appeals to boys (particularly tricky customers!), but has a cool retro vibe. You'll get to play with dissolving paper, clam shell molds, & learn my secret trick to a perfect color fade!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Since this teacher is flying in from out of town, the CANCELLATION POLICY is as follows: If you need to cancel *for any reason* let us know as soon as possible both by phone and by email. If you give us more than 60 days notice, you'll receive a refund of your original payment minus a 25% cancellation fee. If you give us between 30 - 59 days notice, you will receive a refund of your payment minus a 50% cancellation fee. There will be no refunds OR future credit (for any reason) with less 30 days notice of cancellation. If you cannot make the workshop, you have the option of sending someone else in your place, just notify us by the day of the class.


ABOUT THE TEACHERS:
Debbie Chialtas is a self taught melt & pour soap artist who has been feverishly making soaps since 2005. Her business, Soapylove, is famous for its unique Soapy Pops which have appeared in Glamour, People, Cosmogirl, and other magazines around the world. Debbie was a guest on the DIY Network's Craft Lab and is the author of “Soapylove: Squeaky Clean Projects Using Melt and Pour Soap” [which we proudly sell signed copies at the Nova Studio!]. She is also a mother of 2 and lives with her husband in San Diego. We are thrilled to have her as a "Guest Instructor" flying up from San Diego when her schedule allows to teach classes here at The Nova Studio. See our teacher page to view Debbie's current classes.
