As of December 2007, search engines were tracking over 112,000,000 blogs worldwide.  Flickr.com, one of the world’s largest online photo management platforms is presenting hosting images that count in the billions.  Are you a part of the online art marketing explosion? How do you jump on the cyber bandwagon, get involved, and stand out in that innumerable crowd? Whether you already have a blog or website, or if you are just venturing out into the world wide web - this workshop will be valuable to you.

We will cover:

  • Websites, Blogs, MySpace, Facebook and Other Social Networks –
what are the differences and where to start.
  • Creating and clarifying goals for an online presence.
  • Putting your art and craft product’s best foot forward in the cyber world.
  • Creating and growing an online audience for your work.
  • Prioritizing your online efforts so that you see a return.
  • Dos, don’ts, and safety considerations in a faceless cyber world.

Students will leave this workshop prepared to enter or expand their efforts in the ever growing world of online social networking. Each participant will receive a handout that includes resources discussed in class.
