In this interactive hands-on class, you'll customize your own spa-quality moisturizing and exfoliating facial masks. You'll experience all the wonderful things like fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and more that you can use to make your own fresh facials at home, using all-natural (mostly edible) ingredients.
Both exfoliating and moisturizing fresh facial masks can be created almost entirely from ingredients found in our kitchens! When used in a relaxing facial, these delicious ingredients help stimulate circulation, promote deep cleansing, moisturize and nourish, can heal blemishes, and tone the skin. And since true beauty comes from within, we'll nourish ourselves from the inside out as we snack on these delicious foods and discuss their many benefits.
THIS CLASS WILL COVER:
~Cleansing Fresh Fruits
~Exfoliating Grains, Seeds & Nuts
~Moisturizing Milks & Other Wetting Agents
~Beneficial Fresh Herbs & Botanicals
~Handy Powdered Fruit Extracts
~Cosmetic Grade Clays
~Other great secret ingredients used in cooking & cosmetics
Come and discover all the nourishing and delicious fresh
ingredients that you can use to take care of your skin!
You will leave with 2 single-use fresh facial masks - one exfoliating and one moisturizing that you will be instructed to use within 24 hours, plus two additional 2 oz. jars of dry masks, customized for your skin type, that you can use within the next few months. You'll also take home thorough handouts that include suggested reading and a recommended supplier list. All products made in this class are 100% NATURAL (they are free from synthetic ingredients and preservatives). Please BRING a washcloth and hand towel to class if you want to try the products made in class.
ABOUT THE TEACHER:
Alice Duvernell is an artist & gilder who recently moved to the Bay Area after living in the south of France for the past 8 years. There she started researching problematic & sensitive skin types & developed an interest in the amazing virtues of essential oils & hydrosols. Her interest in culture & her studies in anthropology led her to travel in South America where she expanded her passion & awareness in native medicinal plants. During her last journey to Brazil, she set up a laboratory where she shared with the locals her techniques for making hydrosols & other cosmetics, using native plants. Alice currently teaches Handmade Hydrosols & Fresh Facial Masks (wet): Exfoliating & Moisturizing, Natural Spa Facial Products (dry) and Aromatherapy Mama & Baby Products at The Nova Studio.
